A Love Song

I sat down in a chair today
And sang the words to a song you played
Your voice joined mine in harmony
It was the happiest I had ever been
In a while

Sitting in a chair your eyes on me
Singing your love in the melody
The quiet of the room that held only two
Was as sweet as could be

I got offered to sing on my very own stage
The spotlight bright, complete with fame
I felt adored but missed the feeling
Of being known

Sitting in a chair your eyes on me
Singing your love in the melody
The quiet of the room that held only two
Is a distant memory

I've travelled the world, tasted and seen
All if offered, just for me
My mouth was bitter, my heart empty
I want to go home

Sitting in a chair your eyes on me
Singing your love in the melody
The quiet of the room that held only two
Was it still waiting for me?

I sat down in a chair today
And sang the words to a song you played
Your voice joined mine in harmony
I rocked our baby girl
To sleep

Sitting in a chair your eyes on me
Singing your love in the melody
The quiet of the room that now held three
Sitting in a chair is life for me
