Hard is Good

The work of a laborer building

The pastor on his knees in prayer

The parent courageously shepherding

Life entrusted in their care

The doctor & nurse attending sick after sick

The lawman justice seeks

The student diligently learning

The prophet obediently speaks

Morning removal from warm-soaked sheets

Bleary-eyed reading His word

Filling a heart with His truth & desire

Arming to face the world

Working out salvation with trembling & fear

Running a race to win

Laying down self, picking up a cross

Spirit renewing the (wo)man within

A sin confessed on open lips

Cracking stone away from heart

Forgiveness and grace found once more

"It is finished" was just the start
